Land-Grant University - Beers with the Brewers

This week brewer Alex turns Adam, Dan and Mark onto a soon to be released taproom exclusive Northern German Pils. The Pilsner may have received its name from the Czech city of Pilsen but Northern Germany's adaptation of the style in the 1870's turned out considerably different beer due to a higher mineral content water and domestic German hops. Lighter in body and color than Czech pilsners, and much drier and crisper, the lingering bitterness keeps the crushability high as we keep going back for another sip.

This week Dan, Mark, Meredith and Dan take a test ride on our new Hazy Pale Ale, One Goal, that we brewed in support of Pelotonia. This hazy and juicy Pale Ale showcases tropical notes of pineapple making it a super refreshing post-ride brew. We'll be donating $1.00 from every six-pack sold and Taproom pint poured in support of Pelotonia's mission. 

This week Chris, Dan, Mark and Walt celebrate the return of two hazy faves. Fruit Slices Hazy Pale, and Capital Companions Columbus and Mosaic Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA. How will the crush-ability hold up to their last iterations? Come on down and join us in our taproom to find out for yourself!

This week Dan, Mark and Walt get another visit from Mr Balloonhands. This time with strawberry and lavender making a refreshing tart ale that isn't overly sour and drinks like a super refreshing strawberry lemonade. It's the perfect beer for drinking out of cups on any patio this summer. Get real!

It's a fruit salad episode with Mark, Chris, Adam and Walt drinking up all the fruit as we test crush-ability on Inflatable Flamingo, our new, super refreshing Watermelon Wheat and returning classic CreamsiKölsch! 

This week Dan, Chris, Walt and Mark prepare for Franklinton Friday by getting a sneak peek at our latest in the Franklinton Friday Artist Series, Cold IPA. This month's artist, Francesca Miller, is full-time artist in Columbus and a 2019 graduate of Ohio State, who currently leads the Walt Neil Mural League program at All People Arts Gallery. Francesca’s label design is inspired by this month’s Franklinton Friday Music Series artist Eric Rollin and friends - formerly of Mistar Anderson. And by the way, this crisp, lager-like IPA turned out AMAZING!

This week Mark, Patrick, Walt and Adam prepare for the upcoming first match at the new Crew stadium, Lower.com Field while enjoying our supporter beer, Massive. Chosen from four recipes by the passionate supporters of Columbus Crew SC and brewed with Club and City in mind, Massive is a Juicy Pale Ale with Mosaic, Citra, and Cashmere Hops. Will it be as crushable as last year? Find out! Go Crew!

This week Walt, Mark, and Patrick say goodbye to Land-Grant brewer Justin while enjoying an upcoming pilot batch of super crispy Dortmunder Lager. Arriving in the taproom soon! 

Another week without a new beer, so we decided to introduce everyone to our newest brewer, Alex Souza. Alex made his podcast debut last week w/ his tie-breaking vote naming Pool Party the Land-Grant Beer of the Summer.
