This week Mark, Adam, Walt, and briefly Chris, while working hard in the brewery, give updates on expansion in both brewery and beer garden while Adam ensures a good time with soundboard shenanigans. 

Kayla, Walt, Adam and Mark are on the podcast this week and ready to celebrate Pride month with a Pool Party! We’ve packaged our crisp, tropical, refreshing Pilsner in limited edition six packs to celebrate the incredible LGBTQIA+ community here in Columbus and Central Ohio. For each six pack sold we’ll be donating $1 to the amazing Kaleidoscope Youth Center who works in partnership with young people to create and implement positive youth development activities and services that enhance the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth and allies. In addition to these special sixers, we’ve brought back our popular pride t-shirt for a third year with all proceeds from t-shirt sales also benefiting Kaleidoscope! These t-shirts are available only in the taproom starting Thursday, June 6th and will go quick!

No new beers this week, so we decided to grab a few folks from behind the bar at Land-Grant to discuss a myriad of things. Mark and Walt are joined by Amber, Emma, and Kayla to talk about events, favorite beers, mispronunciations and taproom happenings.

This week Kayla, Walt, Dan and Mark taste a beer perfect for pairing with Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, our new Splendid Berry Brut! In Ohio, summer means three things: Beer, Ice Cream, and Strawberries. Once again we’ve teamed up with Columbus Ice Cream Champions, Jeni’s, to brew up the perfect, easy-sipping complement to their annual Strawberry Jam. The early summer bash that celebrates the sunshine-minded makers, brewers, artists, lovers, and musicians of Central Ohio. Splendid is an effervescently dry, brut beer brewed to showcase fresh berries and the sweet lemon aroma of Lemondrop hops. Whichever variety of pint you prefer, summer is here!

This week Adam, Walt, Dan and Mark take a quick dip in the pool... with a Pool Party! This Pilsner takes its traditional base south of the equator with the addition of Souther Hemisphere hops known for their subtle aromas of tropical fruit and citrus—creating a highly drinkable and incredibly refreshing beer. So, when the weather heats up, throw on some sunscreen, hide your wallet in your shoe, grab a pils, and dive in head first.

Join us this week as Mark, Adam, Dan, Walt and events manager extraordinaire Kayla discuss our second release in our new quarterly Concentrate Hazy IPA series and run through a myriad of upcoming goings on down here at the Land-Grant Brewing taproom and beer garden. Concentrate is brewed with both traditional and Cryo-Hops (concentrated lupulin from whole-leaf hops containing resins and aromatic oil) to deliver massive amounts of juicy, hoppy aroma and hop flavor.

This week join Adam, Walt, Chris and Mark as we talk about our annual sun-Grant beer. Each beer in the series is named for a different sun god and are are brewed to highlight our sustainability and community initiatives. 2019’s is an easy drinking lager featuring local honey.

LOCAL HONEY / From Stratford Ecological Center in Delaware, Ohio
OHIO MALTS / Pilsner malt From Haus Malts in Cleveland, Ohio
MIDWEST HOPS / Triple Pearl hops from Michigan
KVEIK YEAST / Fermented at a lower temp for higher electrical efficiency

For every pint pour and six-pack sold, $2 will go towards our internal Sun-Grant Fund which we’ll use to finance equipment upgrades, building improvements, and anything else that will continue to reduce our environmental impact.
